Hey guys,,,,,,well as if making these flight sim movies wasnt enough for me,,,,I have decided to undertake a massive project that not only will take some time but a helluva lotta hard-drive space as well......

as you all know I spent many years logging the forests of British Columbia and Alberta. I have done every type of different logging method from heli-logging to conventional and mostly high-lead..(no horse logging though), and although my body is beat up and scarred extensively,,,,I did make it through it all alive, I wish I could say the same for a few of my friends and co-workers though, I knew many that were not so fortunate.
Anyways......more or less my whole career I packed a camera with me and have an extensive amount of regular photos....and the last couple years I actually managed to haul a video camera with me and got some good footage of certain types of procedures and working equipment. no heli footage though,,,sorry,,,,even if I'd had a camera it was so fast I would not have had time to do any recording anyways.
I just today found a converter tool that will record all my 8mm footage to digital as to make it possible to view and burn to DVD all my old footage.

Much of the footage I have is quite rare and unique, many people have no real idea of how the trees are harvested and dont really get to see it all from my perspective, so trust me when I say that to see a feller-buncher dropping trees on a 65-70% hillside hundreds of feet up a mountain is actually quite spectacular.....as is seeing a grapple yarder in action .....did I mention I at times also placed the camera on my lap in the cab of some of this equipment....I really dont think many people can say they have seen a buncher in action from the operators eyes....I like to think its pretty neat,,,,,,,and I did it for a living......
although I plan to get all my footage burnt to discs for my own benefit,,,,,tonite I got started on what will be a fairly short little movie that maybe some of you might be interested in seeing,,,,I am going to compile as many clips as I can in a short period of time and see how it comes out....I guess I am more or less looking for a small few that may be interested in seeing something like this. anyone interested in seeing something like this???????,,,,please let me know you think and if you would take the time to download a pretty fair size media file....

By all means you should do this Hoppa...it sounds incredibly unique and obviously has great meaning for you...go for it!
