Saumur
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

My main interest is German WW2,but the tank that really impressed me most from everything in the museum was the Israeli Merkava why??? the massive size, the shear mechanical and technical workmanship "wonderful"

For me it's AMX-50 and ARL-44, both for the size and unique design.

Massimo

of course, I forgot about that one Laughing

If we can rule out the M41 / M48 / M60 that only leaves the M24 and M47 that are used for sure and the M26 maybe
The only thing I could find about the M26 in the France army is that the US supplied them to France ..... and that is all
And that France replaced them very quickly with the M47

I have to be honest, I did not look if there would be French websites about the M26 ....... my French is not that good (other phrase for allmost non-existing)

Michel

The Museum has a small area dedicated to temp displays, that usually change each year. It gives an excellent opportunity to see artifacts that are usually keep in storage. Like this AMX-13 Au F3 155mm:

Interesting "art" on that piece. The Tientsin Accord was what sent the Chinese home from Tonkin (northern Vietnam) and a settlement of trade disputes and observed border areas...in 1889.
