The Netherlands AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

then something that looks like a eagle with the number 231

This is the stamp of the quality assurance department of the German procurement agency BAAIN Bw (formerly known as BWB) in Koblenz. The have subsidaries at every bigger manufacturer which are supervising the whole manufacturing process of military items and from time to time they put on stamps to document this.

Thanks for the explanation Jens.

Super others to the list. And where is Croatia, Bosnia? For what replaced?

Concerning it's precise origins I can't tell.
The vehicle has no markings of any kind, except a sort of decal at the hull with a number.
The overall camo is black over green.

When I was taking photo's I thought, the decal would be of some sort of event or a trading company ...... so I did not take any good photo's of it.
However from what can be read, it's starts with tenkisti and then some sort of symbol.
It looks like somthing that can be found at Croatian vehicle's.

It replaces a M109 & M110 SPH that where on loan from another museum.

Besides the known vehicles there was also something new
It's a former Yugoslavian M36 tank destroyer

During the militracks event I also made a quick tour through the musuem and found some interresting info

First of all the Leopard 1-V had been moved and it was possible to read the second marking at hull.
The marking is: MDNL 5140 then something that looks like a eagle with the number 231

"New'' Centurion, parked in the vicinity of the range tower at the artillery range in 't Harde is Centurion mk.5/2 registration KX-10-30, serial(?) 152/450. Tank has the original markings of 11th Tank battalion and tactical number A10.

KX-10-30 is the oldest (AFAIK) surviving Centurion in the Netherlands at the moment.

If it comes from the impact area I don't know, it had no damage from artillery. When I have time I will try to get more info.

"No.57, 5.59" - I think this is a rebuild plate. ALS would be the rebuild facility, possibly in France.

according to the French nomenclature :
ABS = atelier de construction de Bourges
ALN = atelier de construction de Lyon
ALS = atelier de construction de Limoges
AMX = atelier de construction d'Issy-les-Moulineaux
APX = atelier de construction de Puteaux
ARE = atelier de construction de Roanne
ARS = atelier de construction de Rennes
ATE = atelier de construction de Toulouse
ATS = atelier de construction de Tarbes

Is ALS a factory which builded M24 Chaffees? This link is from the army museum regarding their M24 which is in storage at the moment

The M113C&V at the Tonnet barracks in 't Harde is back from maintenance. It is back in front of the buildings of 104th Recce Squadron.

during the Dutch army open house day, newly found M3 for the list

I only know it belongs to a "military" collection, not a private collection.
So it could be the cavalry museum or the Wassenaar/Maaldrift depot or ... no idea

also bought a 600D.
This event was the first real try-out of the 600D and I like it.

Me too - good choice!

I surviving NLD MLRS? Is this an original one. I thought ''we'' only had a former US Army MLRS because we sold all NLD MLRSs.

Regards,
Lesley

I realy don't know, there was no one around to ask.
Tried to find some serial number at the vehicle, none found.

Concerning the M109 SPG RN KZ-88-11, the last known location was Maaldrift.

The PRTL Cheetah was a new one sample, the RN KU-80-20 is not known to me.
I tried to take a photo of the sn and only succeed partly, I think it reads 3552?.
This would fit in to the known serial numbers, the 1 at Breda being 35511 and the 1 previous at Zwijndrecht 35509

Michel
