- JimWebI remember being on location with Michael Caine in the late 70s IIRC doing a film about the crew of a Matilda retreating across France during 1940. It was based on a book whose name I forget but anyway I digress - they actually had a Matilda but it had no engine and all the 'moving' shots had to be it freewheeling downhill which made for some interesting scenes and much recovery work. In the end they abandoned production because of cost overruns etc.
- Doug_KibbeyWell, it's starting to look ever-so-much better...
"Pitt will play a battle-hardened sergeant named Wardaddy."
Even better, it also stars Shia LaBeouf. What could possibly go wrong?
- the_shadockI'vez read that the film is about a tank crew during the last days of WW2. They are using an M4A2(76) HVSS or an M4A3(76) HVSS, so this would fit. However, the most common tracks for HVSS tanks in 1945 were steel tracks and not rubber tracks. The wood and sandbags additional protection on the tank in the photo below also doesn't really fit with what we can see in period photos.
