SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT...

Since the economy is uncertain at best, here's something to consider... Wink

If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have less than $5.00 left.

If you purchased Delta Airline stock you would have $48.00 left.

If you purchased United Airlines, you would have nothing left.

But, if you purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned the cans for aluminum recycling refund, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is...drink heavily and recycle.

I've arranged to make some quick investments in some of the U.K. Banks stock on Monday morning. Not all, just two I feel are more protected than the others but have still taken a beating this year.

If they go up, although it may take some time yet, there will be a considerable return on the investment.

If things continue to get worse, recession will be the last of my worries. With the amount of capital being guranteed by governments around the world, currencies could begin devaluing and any cash lying around won't be worth diddly anyway.

Fingers crossed.

Or, if you would have bought $1000 worth of Anheuser-Busch stock (BUD) a year ago it would be worth $1106 today. Wink
