Had an appointment in Memphis yesterday so I left early and went to Hernando MS (I wasn't paying for the gas).

This M60A3 is an absolute flawless example of a late Anniston rebuild. Looks like they pulled her straight from the MATES site to this location. Original paint and still retains the sight housing. All the vision block glass is intact and not yellowed either. If it wasn't for the weld marks used to close her up you'd think she was ready to roll.

Notice she has an M1 thermal shroud, common to late models in the guard.

Didn't have the heart to look for old SN's since it would require paint removal

Joe, Why did this A3 (or all A3's) have the commander's MG guard so you didn't shoot the searchlight?

It was retained so the TC wouldn't shoot the sub-caliber training device (Brewster or Telfare) during live fire. With the M1's cupola the TC's sight was below the weapon so he would see them, no need for it in theory, although then you relied on his competence Wink
