Looks like almost exactly the same carriage as a Mod 39 da 47-32 - which Aberdeen already has one of... But the muzzle brake and a few other small details are different...

Here's the museum's Mod 39 da 47-32 for comparison.

I believe the top one is Cannone da 47-32 M35 and the bottom one is a Mod 39 da 47-32 47mm. That's probably not the official names but you get the idea. Some of the guys here will know the official names..

Neil, I am checking this thread for the first time. I guess I could help on italian or swiss 47 mm guns. But the images are missing

Are you sure? If they have a muzzle brake they aren't italian 47 mm pieces.

Aberdeen is wrong. It could be a captured piece used by the Italian Army, but it's not the italian build version. The germans gave the italian equipment captured elsewhere, like Skoda guns from Yugoslavia and Poland. I think I've read the italians got former dutch and austrian 47 mm too, but I don't remember seeing pictures of them.

Hi folks,

I have to agree with Massimo, it is an Bohler 47mm AT gun

However it is not Dutch
The Dutch guns of WW2 used spoked rims and had an different type of muzzle break

There is one, allmost identical, at Amersfoort - The Netherlands
Only that is an post-WW2 Swiss gun, with the same muzzle break and same type of wheels (only different tire thread)

There are some picture's of it in the "Artillery in The Netherlands 47mm PAG Bohler" thread

Michel

Hello,
I fixed the picture links above.

If one or both is not Italian, is this one wrong too?

And this one?

The one without the muzzle brake looks italian (same for the gun in Borden).
The gun with the muzzle brake matches the swiss model. I wonder how it end up in Aberdeen.
