Trivia Quiz
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I will guess a "Honey" Stuart tank with the turret removed for use as a Recce vehicle. Similar to the attched photos which are from 1945, with the 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars (RAC)?

I'm guessing an M3 Command Tank?:

"M3 Command Tank: Removal of turret and putting welded box superstructure with .50 cal MG on mount."

I don't know the exact designation as my Hunnicutt Stuart book is at home. However, it is a pilot model for a self-propelled howitzer mounting the 75mm pack howitzer using the M3 Stuart.

Would the T18, Howitzer motor carriage had two hatches directly over the gun system. The top photo appears to show handles for two hatches. I'm sticking with some type of Stuart Recce vehicle. I never knew there were so many variations of the Stuart to begin with!

Hard to tell since the top of that T18 pic is cut off... Unfortunately, Hunnicutt's Stuart is still on my list to buy, someday...

I also wonder if the T18 superstructure is too tall in comparison with Don's picture - but the latter may have a perspective issue...
