Post subject: One of the fastest PC's in the world?

Yep, that's what they claim!

One of the fastest PCs in the world on display at CeBIT 2006Author: Bob Buskirk

Asetek (DK), Kingston Technology Europe Ltd., and Western Digital (US) have joined forces to build and demonstrate one of the fastest commercially available PCs in the world at CeBIT 2006. The Dream Machine, equipped with top picked hardware running CPU speed at amazing 5.46 GHz, is on display at asetek's booth (Hall 22, Stand C20).

Broenderslev, Denmark, March 6th 2006 - asetekr A/S, know for its high-end and extreme VapoChillr and WaterChillT cooling products, has partnered with Kingstonr Technology, the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products, and Western Digitalr, the data storage pioneer and longtime leader in the hard drive industry, to show the lightning fast Dream Machine, running at an amazing 5.46 GHz CPU speed.

The jointly configured system based on, VapoChillr LightSpeed CPU cooling, WaterChillT graphics and motherboard chipset cooling, Kingston Technology HyperX KHX7200D2K2 DDR2 RAM, WD Raptorr X hard drives and Intel P4 3.8GHz CPU, forms the basis of the ultimate Dream Machine for PC enthusiasts and gamers.

"To reach a CPU speed at 5.46 GHz it is crucial to have very efficient cooling on all essential hardware. That is why we have chosen phase-change cooling reaching CPU surroundings close to -33 Celsius degrees under load. Additionally the graphics card and the motherboard chipset are chilled by asetek's highly recognized and awarded water-cooling product line; WaterChillT," states Morten Berg-Christensen, Senior Communications Manager at asetek.

"This is the forth time we have joined asetek during CeBIT and helped building one of the fastest PCs in the world. Obviously our Kingston Technology HyperX RAM series is developed for true and excellent performance and matches such a project perfectly," expresses Brigitte Haas, PR Manager EMEA at Kingston Technology.

"Introducing the fastest SATA drive on the planet and first ever drive with a view, our new WD Raptor X 150 GB hard drive, for PC enthusiast and gamers is truly the right choice for such a speeding Dream Machine. Choosing each hardware component with consideration is a key factor when you want a state-of-the-art system configuration," says Kristian Amberg, Nordic Sales Manager EMEA at Western Digital.

The +5.46 GHz Dream Machine will be displayed at asetek's booth in Hall 22, Stand C20.

Could be! Seems as if the puter world has been hovering around the 3gig speed for a while. Seems as if a breakthrough to faster speeds are coming...eventually...lol
