Fled, I'm downloading it right now, and as it won't take long before we start our tour of Australia, I'd say this should be considered a sort of must have, so that all of us can share the same view.

Though I still can't see how deep is the change, just looking at the features shown at the site you point at it seems to me the add-on will improve the overall appearance so greatly that I'm considering to lenghten our trip in the newest continent more than I foresaw.

Getting it now...

It does say it overwrites some files such as stars and waves. Fled, any issues on your end overwriting the CC Enviro pack?

As far as I could detect here the Australia scenery pack works with a collection of swap files that are changed when you activate the scenery, ergo the stuff gets installed and a backup of the main texture folder and some other folders are made.

When you activate the scenery pack it will "swap" the files so you get the "Aussie" look when you're finished then you can "swap" back to your originals.

Also I would like to suggest to "RTFM" = Read The Friendly Manual Wink

OK I have a situation here...I'm not sure if it's VOZ or the CC environment pack since I pretty much installed them back to back...when I fire up FS9 I no longer have the ability to preview the aircraft. The little window in which you normally see what plane you are about to fly is completely black..I restarted the game several times and no change, has anyone else excperienced anything similar??..once the flight loads and your on the ground everything is fine, just makes it hard to pick the plane you want out of about 200 or so..

Shocked

must admit that I haven't got the foggiest idea what is the culprit of this.

I have also some 200 + aircraft installed and quite a amount of scenery add-ons, to give you an idea:

Fs Global 2005 ( World mesh 15gb )
UK scenery part 1-8
VOZ 1.1
Envi 2.06 pack
Ultimate terrain USA
Ultimate terrain Canada & Alaska
The Netherlands 2.91

and a number more of smaller add-on scenery.

I have approx some 48 Gig's of stuff on my fs9 install, I notice that with this load it takes a bit longer to load but once loaded it runs fine.

Something that could help you sort some problems out is a proggy called Flight Sim Manager v 2.8 available here library.avsim.net/sear...&Go=Search

It can check your aircraft for boo boo's and also your scenery and ton's of more stuff, I run it after I have made some new scenery and or aircraft installs to check if all the needed stuff is there and make shure it causes no conflicts.

Hope this wil help you to sort some of the "issues"

Hangman,

the trouble you name, that is the aircraft preview in pitch black, is something I experienced in the past a few times, always when I switched from a set of video-card drivers to an improved one, possibly faster and more powerful, but evidently not fully compatible.

Turning back to the previous drivers solved the problem.

Maybe it's only a matter of graphic settings, and moving sliders and pushing radio-buttons can make the trick, but I have little time to bungle with that, so every time such occurrence happened I just uninstalled the "new" drivers and resumed the old ones.

Here, Fled's Environmental package and VOZ are working quite fine side by side - video card is a Radeon 9600.

Hope this will help.

well i tried the flightsim manager..long story short, the version siad it was too old to run and pointed me to and updated version, I dled it and it said the same thing..keep saying "version is to old, please update"..I did figure out that one of my many aircraft was causing the problem..reisnatlled a frsh version of FS9 (again) and everything worked fine, copied over the aircraft, effects & gauges folder from my FS92 settup on my second drive and I get the black-out again so its gotta be from one of the aircraft..I have no idea which one though...and I really don't like the idea of starting from scratch in that dept to figure it out...anyone got any other ideas???

Shocked Confused

When you have eshtablished that one of the installed aircraft is the culprit, only advice I can give you is:

of your fresh installed fs9 toss out all the non stock aircraft and start be adding the add-on one's one by one.

I know it's a P*** in the A** job but that would be the only way to figure out wich one is the bugger that screws things up.

I would go about as follows, open explorer, go into your Aircraft folder and move all the non stock aircraft out or bin 'm when you have the stuff backed up.

Then start up fs 9 it will start up with the stock cessna so that's fine, then start adding your add-on aircraft one by one and select the just added aircraft, when you get your black screen you know you've found the bugger.

I hear ya it's as said a ******* load of work and time that goes in to that, but that's the way I would do it.

And if there are people that know a better and specially faster way of getting this sorted then I'd gladly like to hear it .

Hang in the bud ............
