Google Earth Quiz for Fort Knox Guys
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Google Earth Quiz for Fort Knox Guys

I have been looking at the Ft. Knox area in Google Earth and trying to match photos with satellite photos. I stumbled upon areas that I would like to ask what they are, if I may.

This area, Radcliff in background,

looks a lot like where A-109E took this picture:

These two areas stand out in Google Earth and made me wonder if anyone can tell me what they are..

I don't suppose there's any national security involved, what terrorist would target a bombing range? (If that's what they are?)

The 'sandy' area seems to be the manuever space near St Vith Range on the Main Range Road. This is Yano Tank Range.... Regards Don
