Which tank chassis...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Which tank chassis...

Just got some information in from a contact in Jordan. The factory he works at is making a number of turrets for an undisclosed foreign buyer.

The turret sides are nearly 5-foot tall with large slab sides but the roof is actually about 12-inches lower.

They also have:

1. Small brackets on sides/front/rear for an unidentified additional fitting.
2. Armoured glass view ports in all sides.
3. Raised central commanders cupola with pintle mount & shield.
4. Single two-piece square flat hatch.
5. A circular hatch at each rear corner of the turret roof with pintle mount.
6. Main armament not fitted but fittings are for an M150 mount.
7. 185-inch turret ring.

So which tank are they destined for and what is the main armament?

Cool

185" Turret ring? 15' 5" Are we sure it's for a tank and not for a naval vessel?

M48 and M60 both have a 85" turret ring and both are in Jordan's inventory- as well as in their Western neighbour's... Cool Somehow it sounds like one of those urban tank-cum-APC thingies in the making, probably inspired by said neighbour's conversions. Mr. Green
