Season's greetings
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Season's greetings

Greetings and Good Wishes to all Curmudgeons in Armour.

Whether you keep Christmas, have a holiday, mutter "humbug", have a family time or just your own company, may you enjoy the next few days and may they bring you what you would wish for yourselves and those you value.

Best Wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-discriminatory and gender neutral celebration of the summer/winter solstice practiced within the religious or secular tradition of your choice - being mindful of the choices of others without regard to race, creed, colour, computer platform, or political preference of the wisher or those to whom the wish is directed.

Or...

Merry Christmas, Frohe Weihnachten, Joyeux Noël, Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale, Feliz Natal, Weso?ych ?wi?t, C P?????????, srecan bozic, vesele vianoce, sretan Boži?, glædelig jul, veselé Vánoce, Vrolijk Kerstfeest, God Jul, Felican Kristnaskon, Nadolig Llawen, Zorionak eta urte berri on, Linksmu sventu Kaledu, Selamat Natal, Kia ora, Christmas Alegre, Mele Kalikimaka... also... Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa. Or maybe just a Happy Holiday.

Jens O.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope that you'll enjoy a good time with your family and/or friends.

Here in Eastern France we have no snow but white iced trees.

A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!! Christmas day is also my birthday, so I have twice the reason to celebrate. Turned 45 but dont quite feel that old yet. If anyone ever gets Ft Hood, Texas way, look me up and I'll do what I can to provide a nice tour of the post and it's "hidden" armor around the post.

45!!, Wow, I feel old now.... Laughing

Behind Range Control still got a bunch of 'Hard Targets'?

I'll bet the 4th ID & 1st CAV memorial parks are loaded with additional vehicles on static displays.

Happy Birthday/Merry X-mas (a little late).

Regards
Don

Don, don't feel old! Right now I'm typing this with lower right back pain after lifting some wood I shouldn't have today. Before Christmas I actually went into the hospital and got a shot and drugs for a lower left back muscle I pulled when I hefted a large pine log onto my shoulder while out in the training area's of Hood with my son.
The hard targets are still there, and the museums have their collections, but I'm talking about the armor on display in motorpools and barracks areas across the post. Right now I'm trying to get into a slot at the 1st CAV museum. I go see the museum director and NCOIC, (E-8) on Friday the 4th. I already have been OK's with a letter of release from III Corp to go where I can so now I just have to find a home.
I still need to get down to that Ontos here in Texas if I can ever get a free day. Do you have any plans to be Texas way? Take care and have a Happy New Year.

I'm still stalled with transpo of 'my' 2 hulls. Got a quote two years ago, $695.00. Two months ago same transportation firm,....$5395.00. You'll have a chance to see them if you visit Texas Ontos. He visited in October. Hes written an article from the trip, along with photos should be in Military Motors Mag sometime soon.

No plans for Texas roadtrip, but I 'll let you know if one should come up.

H N Y!!!

Seasons Greetings (although a little late),

Finally home and relaxing. Trying to get used to using one hand, fortunatly it's not my dominent one that's impared. (old injury repaired, finally )

Jeff, I envy you, I wish I could finish out my time working in a museum. Even if it was just to meet and greet at the door at Fort Knox.
