Kubinka photo tour...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

What is the vehicle in the background to the left? Thanks and I love the 'behind the scenes' photos!

- SHAWN
the nam 48-- looks to be copied after the infamous
"Wild One 4"
1st Platoon, 919th Armored Engineering Company
11th ACR

Not surprised - previous paintscheme not looks 100% correct.
BTW on the sides i see number US ARMY 9A6210. Maybe it's original number, maybe not.

Hello Folks, Just in case anyone has any interest in a trip to Kubinka I would highly recommend Three Whales. We have gone several times and used Oleg's Travel Agency, he takes care of everything. A very honest person to deal with..We also used him in St Petersburg at the Artillery and Engineer Museum. Good photos will be the greatest challenge, have a good trip.

Good tip, thanks!

I keep post-poning a visit to Kubinka since I know things may get complicated and photography is problematic. But at one point I'll have to go.
