Bovington Tank Museum pics... Some ID Help Needed
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

They have set a light on this tank to flash, I believe the pic is in mid-flash.

I need some help identifying this armored car. The sign does not appear to match the vehicle?

Similarly, are these Sherman rollers?

Nice shots, Neil. I really really hope that you will go to the Saumur Tank Museum soon, to take more wonderful photos.
I took some of your photos from the Bovington tank museum, and inserted it in my PDF files (look at the "Tiger and Panther survivors lists" topic).

Cheers from France,

Pierre-Olivier

Unfortunately, I dont know when I will get to Saumur again - although I was pleased to find that they had brought a Char B1 bis to Eurosatory last week. Pictures to follow in another thread...

Sorry Neill the thread takes so long to download from image-treacle-bucket that I have had to turn the images off when I view it... one of the consequences of living in this part of the world I suspect.

Cool

A Mk A Whippet known as "Caesar" - one of two in the world, the other is at the Ordnance Museum at APG. A Birtish Army Lieutenant won a VC posthumously in this tank.

Neil

They also have a Whippet in the Belgian Museum of Armour in Brussels (and a Mk IV IIRC).

Hi Neil! Hi Folks!

Thanks for sharing your photos! Almost makes up for not go there myself.

As for your questions:

1. The armored car, no clue yet.

2. The possible Sherman mine rollers, again no clue yet.

3. The model. Looks a bit like a possible VERY early Chieftain idea.

Sgt, Scouts Out! Smile

How about you just let it load in a seperate window while you're doing whatever else? I hate to leave you out of this... I may have to look into the photobucket album options...
