Hello Michel,

When I am in the neighbourhood I always visit this PAK.

It is impressive.
It looks powerfull and it is!

Its rounds can penetrate 15 cm of steel at 2000 m.

Regards,
Wim.

that is reason I'm planning to make an visit there Wink

Seeing the real thing is better then just an picture of it
Especially if there is nothing there to compare the size of it

I visit the Airborne museum Hartenstein at Oosterbeek last year
And they have two 17 pdt AT-guns
They are an lot bigger then I expected they would be Surprised

Will put them in an post, it is an little quiet at the Artillery Forum Mr. Green

Hello Michel,

Please take a picture of the PAK 40 in Zandoerle near Eindhoven when you go to Susteren.
Then we have (I think) all the outside german PAK's in the Netherlands.

Regards,
Wim.

Since Zandoerle is close by for me I took some photos today. I work 22 years in the neighbourhood of Veldhoven and I never heard of it.

The grid is N51 24.857 E005 21.528
Anyway here are the pictures, could not find a readable serial on it.

Roughly translated it says: Captured from the enemy in september 1944 during Operation Market Garden. Put on this square by the local population during the liberation festivities. Given to the population of Zandoerle by the town council. Then some thing about the type and calibre. And as last;Last restoration carried out in 2006 by Leebur B.V. in Bladel (= town)
