Ok kids been away from this for a bit so need some help here. Running version 4.04. Now I see their up to 4.08. Do I need 1946 to continue to get to 4.08... Does 1946 merge into the rest of IL2 that is installed already? Any info on this is greatly appreciated.. Thanks guys. Hope all is well with everyone.. Duckie

Hi Duckie, The latest version of FB/PF is 4.04. If you want to go higher you need the 1946 DVD and the latest patch. 1946 contains FB/Aces and PF as a merged version, I think you can merge the 1946 into your FB/PF merged version without a complete install (I may be wrong). Most people play the 1946 version, there are some who still play PF stand alone.

Don't know if you have a source for the 4.08 patch but here's a link to it. IL2 1946 4.08 game patch What are you like at racing a bomber

Hiya Duckie! Yep, 1946 IS the game to get and as Kit said, update to 4.08 and you should be good to go... (down in flames that is...lol)

Sounds like your all sorted. Look forward to a bit of flying with you. As to bomber racing, don't listen to Bushy , I don't think he's ever made it over the first hill with his bombing plan The secret is...Get in front...

Ok I have all the goodies installed Game and 4.08 patch. Now can anyone explain to me how to get hyperlobby to find the path of 1946 from the 4.04 version... I've been away from this stuff to long geeeeeshhhhhhhhhhh. And to think that at one time I taught Bush everything he knows......... Duckie

There is not a set lobby for 1946. Since 1946 is an upgrade to FB/PF merged version, you play it just like FB. Just use the FB lobby on HL.

You can only patch the merged FB/PF to 4.04m You can only go up to 4.08 with 1946 installed.

The Il-2 1946 add-on v.4.08m installs only over v.4.07m (1946 DVD or FB+AEP+PF+46 merged).

Hmm, isn't 1946 already at 4.07 ??? Been that long I can't remeber, also if there was a 4.07 patch I should have had it stored on hard drive, which I don't so I don't think there is a 4.07 patch. But I'll keep looking just incase.
