ok i installed pacific fighters stand alone, when i hit start i get error screen and no game running? "cannot locate cdrom...cd.dvd emulation software has been detected, please disable all cd/dvd emulation software and restart" now that would be just fine if i knew what i was disabling! any ideas folks before i sling these discs in bin.

Sounds like that stinky rts.dll problem - I had the same problem (on two installs!) and so did Stepchild. He was nice enuff to post a linky to the fix, see his original thread here:

ok tried that with no luck, this seems to be a issue with dvd burning software or something like that, i'm still stuck with it not loading

Sounds to me like you have a disk emulating or copy software installed such as cd clone or daemon tools. These need to be uninstalled before IL2 will install. Software on the IL2/FB/PF CD checks for these types of programs and halts the application for copy security.

I had same error and had to remove the software and re-boot before it would work.

I guess you have a software to copy some CD or DVD on your pc. It means for PF that you want to make some illegal copies! So It doesn't want to run!!! Software like Nero works fine, but with some other you come across problems!

So, you must uninstall this software an try again with PF, I guess it would work (one of my friend had have the same trouble), but I don't know if you can re-install the copy software after installing PF (I will ask him).

ok thnx guys i'm almost certain its clone cd that it has issues with, i'll try reinstalling after removing that n see what goes, i had no luck getting a fix from the pf support and i think its poor not to patch this type of problem.

I have Nero and Clone CD and mine works fine but I installed the game first
