Hey Don: An Atlanta Ontos?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The September 1972 edition of AFV News includes the following:

"Sam L George, 5154 Long Island Drive, NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30327, USA [even includes a phone number], has recently acquired a USMC "Ontos" chassis but would like to find a source for spare tracks..."

Interesting

I've never heard even a trace of a hint of that.

The only 'Southeast' area locations seem to be in the Carolinas. Most seem to have been former Foresty Svc vehicles.

In 1972, track availability would have been thru the USMC supply system. I have seen information that Ontos were still 'in the system' well into the late 70's although in very small numbers.

Regards
Don
