Post subject: Cockpit Views In FSX ?

Sad Hi all: Just a question: When I change views on my FSX I get a 1/4 screen, usually at the bottom that doesn't change. Fx: If I am in cockpit view and change to outside view the bottom of that outside view has the bottom of the instruments of the cockpit view???The same with tower view and aircraft view. This even happens if I change to v/c
Where can my setting be all knotted together? I am at loss???

I would hazard a guess that it's down to your video drivers.

Check that DX9c is working OK (dxdiag)
Check for latest video drivers

Kitform: Thanks for your response, I'll admit I am not a comp. wizz. but have learned along the way with MS flight simulators.
Just did a check and test of DX9c and all seems ok. My video drivers are up to date for Nvidia GEForce FX5600XT.

I still have Fs9 on my machine and the views there work as they should, I thought one could make a choice somewhere on FSX where this display can be arranged you know like in Fs9. Though I realize now that maybe this is not possible, since the choises between 2D and V/C are on the views menu, and once choosen you're stuck with it, until you revert for another one, Like changing from 2D to V/C. As regards the 1/4 screen I have difficulty changing to full screen mode too Sad

Hi Bernardo,

What also is something to think about is that with the nVidia drivers there comes a control panel.

In the control panel there are several options, one of them is set pre configured configurations for various games, there you can select either :
MS Flight Simulator 2004
or
MS Flight Simulator X

The settings for fs9 are contraproductive in fsX and the otherway around.

This means that when you want to mock around with fs9 you MUST select those settings vis the nVidia controlpanel first !

Same applies for when you want to fly in fsX, you need to select those settings there first.

As for partial or non viewable 3D cockpits, that is related to xml coding and I can tell you that there is a bunch of people worldwide looking in to that to get it fixed.

It also is related to several Aircraft and their coding, for example the CaptainSim 727, outside view, all is fine, as soon you change to cockpit view it seems half the screen goes black and you have some very weird effects there.

Unfortunatly the cure has not beeing found .... yet.

As soon as things clarify and get available we at Com-Central will inform everybody ASAP.

Hi Harry: Smile Thanks for helping, I just realized that by reading the help section and the start section on FSX there's a lot of info in this regard.Always act before I read
You know the choices we use to make with the "S" buttom in Fs9 are now different F9; F10. For choosing between the the two panel choices. Also how to use the mouse to pan around the V/C and zooming. Twisted Evil

Little by little we all have to learn how this thing works. The important thing is sharing the information .Hope XML coding gets sorted out soon

I look at the NVidia panel soon : :zip:Could you guide me a bit as to how to use the Nvidia Control panel? I stumbbled across what you mention sometime ago, But I'll be if I find it now??
