M1A2 (SEP) Tanks at Fort Bliss Video (Sorry, No Live-Fire)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I took a video of new M1A2 (SEP) tanks at Fort Bliss. They will be assigned to the 1st Armored Division.

Roy,

I contacted 1st AD PAO and asked for a contact person at the 1st AD Museum. No response yet but I think I'd like to be involved with their museum.

Mark

Hey Mark, if you have time, stop in at the Museum and asked for the 1st Cav Division's contact person. My guess is that in time, that individual will become the 1st AD's POC at the Museum. The last time I talked to them, they had two sections going. One for the old Air Defense history side and a new Armored team which was building up the collection for the 1st Cav Div.

Don't forgot Mark, those vehicles you are seeing are part of the FCS progarm first and are only under the 1st AD because it will become the major unit at Ft. Bliss. Bliss was selected as the location for the FCS test BCT (FCS Evaluation Task Force) before BRAC was started. After BRAC was layed out, only then did the 1st AD pick up admin control of the FCS test BCT. As I understand things so far, there is a FCS Evaluation Task Force Office which stood up early last year . Second is the new "Unit of Action" type of Heavy BCT (3rd/36th/5th Bde) which will conduct tests for that office. The Commanding General of the 1st AD will have admin responsiblities for the unit.

Sgt, Scouts out!

Hi Folks!

I was checking out that tank and something jumped out at me. Look at the tanker's ACU shirts. While they do look like they would blend in with the brush in the back ground, they stand out like a sore thumb against the dirt and that paint color on the tank. I though one of the ideas behind the new ACU was the mix of pattern and colors could blend in with all back grounds?

Confused
