Here is the only ref I can find in the FSX Config file.

[PANELS]
IMAGE_QUALITY=1
QUICKTIPS=1
PANEL_OPACITY=100
PANEL_MASKING=1
PANEL_STRETCHING=1
UNITS_OF_MEASURE=0
DEFAULT_VIEW=0

As far as the dll. file, the file is in the root/gauges folder and called "FA-18.dll"

Thanks Stoopy, I got it!!

Unfortunatly, it didn't cure the problem. I've looked into the configs further, but all seem to point to that dll file. The dll you sent is the same size as the dll I had, but one never knows if it's corrupted or not.

I have another question. Does your F18 have a 2d panel too? The plane config calls for one and says it can found in that same DLL file. I don't show one in my install.

Back to the drawing board I'm afraid... Wink

Bushy, tell me what d'load the F18 is and I'll install it.
I'm on nVidia as well.

Be interesting to see if it's an ATI thing. Rolling Eyes

I already know the F/A-18 has no 2D panel. Has a fullscreen HUD instead. Dangit.

I should get out of the P51 more often.

Anyways. I seem to have my full quota of MFD's

Ooops, forgot to mention nVidia 7950GX2's

It's good to see it's not a vid card issue, that's for sure... Wink

Does the MFD's actually operate (it would seem so from the DLL file) or are they just 'pretty'? ...lol

To be honest, I don't do much jet'n around anyhow, but the MFD's don't work in the new helo release either. (Not that I can fly helo's all that well...lol)

Since they don't work in either SimObject, that would lead someone to believe it's missed a function call somewhere that's common to both those aircraft. I'll keep diggin' and see what I can come up with...

Fully funtional, you can swap displays between various functions and decide which MFD you want to display it on. You can alter the brightness and contrast as well for each display. Shocked

All the cockit is 'live'. It's a shame to have to look outside, there's enough to play with in here. Smile

Yeah I haven't tried it but I've heard that even the radar displau on one of the MFD's shows the nearby AI traffic and allows you to select any of them as a target.....doesn't show on the HUD pipper but still cool.

Bush, check your config file in the panels folder, that's where the MFD's are referenced. Left DDI, right DDI and centre DDI

Here's mine...

[Vcockpit01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=1024,1024

visible=1
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$F18_A_GAUGE1

;1 = left DDI
;2 = right DDI
;3 = center DDI

gauge00=fa-18!MFD, 450,4,440,440, 1
gauge01=fa-18!MFD, 4, 452, 440, 440, 2
gauge02=fa-18!MFD, 4,4,440,440, 3
gauge03=fa-18!MFD, 578, 579, 440, 440, 4 NOSCANLINES
gauge04=fa-18!UFC_WINDOW, 4, 898, 193, 58, 1
gauge05=fa-18!UFC_WINDOW, 204, 898, 193, 58, 2
gauge06=fa-18!UFC_WINDOW, 4, 960, 193, 58, 3
gauge07=fa-18!UFC_WINDOW, 204, 960, 193, 58, 4
gauge08=fa-18!UFC_WINDOW, 450, 446, 193, 58, 5
gauge09=fa-18!UFC_SCRATCHPAD, 648, 448, 264, 57
gauge10=fa-18!UFC_COM, 400, 899, 47, 58, 1
gauge11=fa-18!UFC_COM, 400, 961, 47, 58, 2

Yep, mine reads exactly the same as yours does Kit. See the fa-18!UFC.... reference? I believe the "!" stands for a .dll reference. I think it also goes somewhere else for a function call, I just haven't found it yet... Wink

The odd thing is, if you look at this call function:

[Window02]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=456,378
position=8
visible=0
ident=GPS_PANEL
window_size= 0.500
no_luminous=1

gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0

it represents the Garmin 500 GPS. Also notice the "!" in the call. If you check in the gauges folder, you'll see a dll called "fs9gps". I'm sure all the functions are from within these dll programs as all .dll's are mini-programs.

Still, it will not display the gauges in the fa18. I've replaced the fa18.dll with a known good one and still no joy and as I stated earlier, it would appear to be 'calling' for another function that much be corrupted on my copy of Accelerator.

I think I need to open the .dll itself and see where the call function is to the gauges and how it's stated. Now where did I leave that disassembler program... Wink

Take a look... Wink

I installed it again and woohoo! Still, I have no idea where the problem was as everything (all configs and references) still looks the same... Shocked
