Germany AFV Registers
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Howdy folks,

just an small poll

Would there any interrest in an AFV register for Germany??

I will have to be honest, I do not have any picture's of vehicle's at german museums or a like from my self

So almost everything will have to be send, donated or "found"

However the German language will not be an problem, so information from German sites can be checked

Michel

I would definately help for a Germany AFVs register, I visited some museums and places there. Rafal also listed the T-34/85s displayed in Germany and could help too.

So there are some interrested people, good to hear Razz

Concerning the jagdtiger site, it will something like it
Only then as an list from all AFV found in Germany, similair the the other AFV register's

The jagdtiger site is only about the places the webpage owner has visited himself

There is an large militairy museum (Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr), with an lot of AFV's, at Dresden

And to my knowledge this is one of the main militairy museum's in Germany

This museum is not at the jagdtiger page

The Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr in Dresden is currently closed , to be more correct there is a small part open at the rear of the museum. Most of the museum is at the moment a construction site for the new museum. I was there last summer and the only armour on display was a M47 Patton, Leopard 1 with the prototype turret, a SU 75 and a BA-65, all the rest was in storage.

The museums aren't a problem.
The most difficult will be to find informations about vehicles in small towns, military bases, military areas.

In this mater I know only this website
www.hartziel.de/

I think this problem could be solved, for the biggest part

The most difficult will be finding an good German language forum or photo website (perhaps even WEBSHOTS or PHOTOBUCKET)

Germany is the biggest country, with the biggest population in western-europe
They must have some-thing like this forum in German, perhaps I can find an link on the jagdtiger or hartziel page

Yes, that's always the case. But you have to start somewhere, and an incomplete register is better than nothing.

Yes been there a week before the big show, it was a short visit, I had only 2 hours time but stayed almost 4 hours. Result was that I had to cancel the visit to Darkovicy.
