That's only the second set of pictures I've ever seen of a smoke grenade launch from a Sheridan. The first set I took myself in '71. Those old pics I recognize as being at McFarland-Oliver (from the ridgeline on the right, especially).

I see some later-era Armor Board pics among that collection, when I have the time, I'll look for any of our first laser rangefinder test project among that collection (AB vehicles can be identified from bumper markings of TEC<triangle>EBD along with the "test operation" stencils). I don't recall being photographed on that project, so at least maybe just the vehicle is there.

Thanks for posting those!

I wish I had a count of the numbers of days, nights, and meals I took there. More nights than at CTA, which were almost always daytime ops.

I am so relieved I didn't allow myself to become a WWI cardboard soldier. Laughing

David,

I had some very nice feedback about your project today from a certain retired colonel. He mentioned that your project might ought be mentioned in the Blackhorse Newletter, given the number of contributions from that quadrant. I left it up to him if he thought they wouldn't mind mentioning a commercial product. Just an FYI. Wink

That was taken in Aug 2006, when I was misled by a visitor to check out some old ranges.

I took this in 1985, the first time I visited that range.

So....that tower base wasn't dripping in poison ivy and a condemned structure then, obviously. Laughing

Great pics! I'll be studying them closely in the very near future.
