I've found some interesting B&W pictures of an M4 Sherman with painted RN 3033967. This seems to be an M4 built by ALCO, with SN 25437 :

On this picture, one can see the Radial Continental R-975 being replaced with another one :

These are well known pictures and have been in dozens of books and articles on the Sherman.

I don't know how 'well known' is defined but I don't remember seeing the one of Hurricane coming ashore from the LST before. Is there any information about when or where the pictures were taken?

P-O, how do you know this tank was made by ALCO? Are you working back from the registration to a known serial number block?

Trevor, we know that "Cookie" is an M4 with SN 24871 and original RN 3033401. Then I calculated the SN of "Hurricane" from the RN that we can see on period photos, 3033967.
