I suspect the locals know the truth, it is more likely an error by the British newspaper. Maybe the company that did the work told them that story....

you can see from the picture's in the article, the tank is empty
So I'm not betting against you Wink

I don't know if the company know's about the tank type
Most info that can be found of the tank at Groesbeek is telling that it is an M4 Sherman tank
Not an Canadian Grizzly

So the text should read "firm [xyz] offered to restore the tank in exchange for spare parts" instead of "firm [xyz] offered to restore the tank for free"?

But I am happy the tank got repainted! Pity they did not repaint the tracks, though.
