#1: Looking for radio aerial/antenna references Author: Jim_Coles PostPosted: Mon Nov 05, 2012 2:51 am

Are there any references out there which give the length and makeup of the radio aerials for commonly used tank/military radios for the major powers? I'd like to be able to use the correct scale aerial length for the type of radio installed in the tank model I'm building.

For example, the C42 sets used in Canadian Centurion tanks had three 4' aerial sections, 2 of which were used for the standard 8' aerial, and a third could be used to make a 12' aerial for long range communication (or you could use only one if you wanted to restrict the range). These were copper tubes, with the top of one section being a push fit into the bottom of the next.

If I can get enough info, and presuming that nobody has already done this, I'd like to compile it into a reference page on my website.
