Hello,

could someone help to find photos or information about the potential use of 105mm turrets for M4A3E4 or M4A1E6 conversions? (the M4A1E6 is just like the M4A3E4, but with a small hatch M4A1 hull). All the survivors have been seen with regular 75mm D50878 (low bustle) or D78461 (high bustle) turrets.

The 105mm turret has an extra vent at the rear :

thanks

One theory is that the 105mm hulls used came from the early 105mm Shermans without powered turret traverse. Rebuilding the turrets with powered traverse would've been more elaborate than simply using already available 75mm turrets, so the turrets were replaced.

But it would be interesting to see if any 105mm turrets were actually used.
