The March 1978 issue had a report from Norman Cary, who apparently was the senior museum curator at the Center of Military History, on the distribution of the vehicles found at Fort Belvoir:

Patton Museum, Fort Knox:
2 M4 Shermans
1 T28
1 T-34

Pennsylvania National Guard:
1 M3 Half-Track
1 M59

Fort Jackson, SC:
1 M4 Sherman
1 T30

I knew that Knox got one Sherman (M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight SN 59894), and the T28 and T30 obviously - but that's it.

The article also mentions 40 vehicles being acquired from Japan (excess Military Assistance Program), including M3/M3A1 "armored personnel carriers" (half-tracks?), M15A1 half-track gun motor carriages, and M24 tanks. 15 (six M15A1s, five M3/M3A1sm and four M24s) were funded for shipment at the time of the article...

Wonder if they ever made it over...

Neil
