#1: Document concerning different models of AV-1790 engine Author: Walter_Sobchak, Posted: Tue Jul 30, 2013 4:34 am ---- Not sure that anyone out there cares much about specifics concerning US Army tank engines in the 1950's/1960's, but if so, this might prove interesting. It's a document from Continental Motors on how to differentiate between the various models of their 1790 cubic inch gasoline tank engines. The engines examined are the AV-1790-7, AV-1790-8 and AVSI-1790-6. These engines were used in the M-47, M-48, and M-103 series of tanks as well as the M-88 tank retriever. I have a stash of stuff relating to Continental Motors, I'll keep uploading it to Internet Archive.
