Hi All,

I made a trek North from Tokyo to Nasu, Japan to visit a private museum collection. The gentleman's collection includes this Japanese tank. It is a type I've never seen nor can I track down an ID.

Anyone know WHAT this is?

Historical Photographic evidence strongly suggests that the tank was used as infantry support and transport for the infamous "Bimbo Brigade" of the late war Japanese Army - as shown here:

Overall, it looks like it was built using sheet metal and tracks from a commercial tractor/bulldozer. Appearance-wise, it combines features of the Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank (glacis plate) and as a whole it resembles the Type 92 Jyu-Sokosha tankette.

Apparently it's a movie prop.

"Bimbo Brigade" is my joke about the young ladies staged on the tank for the photo.
