Ok, Chris! You Win!

First I photograph the M39 in Danbury and the next day you're riding around in one! Now you get photos from the base in San Diego that we wrangled our way on to see, but couldn't photograph! Arghh!!! Evil or Very Mad

Seriously, I'm glad you got photos of the tanks! Good going.

Arkansas Tank Hunting update #2.

Today, we found the new ARNG Armory in Fort Smith, AR for the unit previously based out of the armory (now a police training facility) on Zero St and Massard Rd. I asked about the status of the M55 and was told that it is in a storage yard off 1st Ave on Fort Chaffee. Alas, we couldn't gain access to Fort Chaffee to see it.

The new armory has an M110 out front. (35.31556, -94.27576) This one is not listed in the registry. SNF286.

We located and photographed the M40 in Charleston, AR. It was removed years ago from the park on S School St and placed in the City vehicle storage area down off of what Google calls Lee Western Rd (but the local street sign calls something else) GPS (35.29193, -94.05196). A local police officer had planned on restoring it, but has since retired and the M40 sits forlorn in a storage area.

Also, we located and photographed the M40 in Mena, AR. It was displayed for years up at the local lodge but was moved to the AR National Guard Armory on Morrow St N (34.59329, -94.22244) North of 71. A Sgt from the Armory came out and gave us a little history of the vehicle. When it was delivered to the Armory in the 1980s, it rolled off of the lowboy and crashed into a tree. The tree was taken out and the upper right rear of the M40 was slightly bent. Yes, we have photos of the tree stump and the damage to the M40.

Photos of all of the above will be posted as soon as we can.

Cheers!!

Paul and Lorén,

thanks for the updates about the M40s in Mena and Charleston. It was impossible to find recent photos of these two vehicles, so I was wondering what happened to them.

Dear Friends,
Mr. Bahenský did a great job when he built this toy for big boys. Too bad that the vehicle contains 0% original parts.

Information about the construction here.

Aha, another F-serialed M110! Lends credence to the FMC-unique serials theory Smile

Good job on the Belgian Register
You still mention the SdKfz 250 at the Baugnez Museum near malmedy. But that one is no longer there.
