#1: M1A1 Fuel Tank Questions Author: MarkHolloway, Location: Beatty, NevadaPosted: Mon Jan 29, 2007 12:14 pm ---- I know that the fuel capacity of an M1A1 is 505 gallons but can anyone tell me the individual capacity?
Also, Is there a cross-over line between the front tanks? I thought there wasn't but we filled the front left tank and it took 158 gallons according to the meter. I don't think it holds this much so the meter is bad or there is a cross-over tube????

Yes there is, it runs across the top. If you pump fuel at a slow enough rate you can actually fill the opposite tank. That's how you can transfer from either the left or right to the rear without draining the other.
