These may not be serial numbers, I believe they are more like registration numbers. The M114 had two different numbers, on each side of the rear hull, just ubder the tail lights. There was however a very clear number on the front right edge of the hull slope.
The M113A1 had them where I expected in two of the locations but the third was new to me. The front upper slope under the headlight, and the area above the ramp I knew about. But the matching number on the side of the ramp door caought me by suprise. M1064's, M106's, M577's, all have these serial in the same place, so I would assume most, if not all the M113 family is close to the same.

M114 reg number was 12T813, (right rear was 382, left rear was 308)

M113 had MSJ20649 in all three locations.

I believe the "SJ" in the M113 serial number is for "San Jose" (California) where these were built.

I know some were also made at an FMC plant in West Virginia (I had a boss who recently retired who worked there in QA test driving them back in his younger days) I wonder what the prefix for those would be?
