I was reading the sticky on Stick Settings for IL2. I tried those settings when I first went to IL2 back in 2004. However those settings really do not apply to todays type of sticks.

When the 332nd FG first went to IL2 we tried those settings and found out that they were not very good. My Father who was a Pilot with Marine Air Squadron VMF 211 in the Philippines WW2 tried it and said that Capt Brown was wrong with his settings. So he played around with it and came up with a setting thats almost realistic.

Pappy, who was with my FG who was a Bomber Pilot with the RAF tried those settings that my Father set up even said it was close to being real. I have Pitch,Roll and Yaw all set at 85% and I can fly almost any plane with no trouble. I used these settings with my old Saitek X45 and my X52 and I do not have any problems. I do not know about the Saitek X52 pro. I know other guys who have the CH products that use my stick setting and they all agree that it works fine.

My advice to those who fly IL2 forget what Capt Brown said for the stick settings. Try the settings I have and you can go from there and set the stick till you feel good about. It works good even with Japanese planes. Like I said you can try those setting and go from there. Just here to help.

I also use the X52. I use the IL2 Sticks utility to obtain the following config.ini readings. For myself, I find that if the settings are too high, there is tendency to stall and spin.

Every one has there own stick settings. I just wanted to bring to the attention to people that the stick setting by Capt Brown isnt all that great. I was just trying to give a guide line for others to try and they can work it from there.
I have been using these stick settings for over 4 years now and never have stalled or have gone into a spin unless I messed up. There ae a great number of guys using the stick settings I have and we all agreed this are probbly the best settings to use. Like I said give it a try and go from there. Also beside my fther, we had another fighter pilot who flew Mustangs,P-40 and P-39 for the 322nd FG Charles McGee try those stick settings and he agreed they were close to the real settings. Like I said You can go from there.
These settings are just a guide line to get new people or the older IL2 Pilots who are having troubles with thier settings to try and they can work it from there till they are happy and satisfied with the way they like it.
