Bloomington, IL M1917
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

The figure on top of the turret (looks a little like a hood ornament!) is on the Civil War memorial in the park.

A little astonishing to see something so old and so rare just sitting in a park. Also odd to see it painted in what appears to be Japanese WW2 aotake primer.

You manage to get any images of that monument?

Snapped these two quickly. Not great photos but something.

Thanks V!

I'm currently involved doing some research for a series of short programs about war memorials with each program being about a single memorial and the usual why, wherefore, who & background behind each memorial.

If anyone has a distinctive memorial they know about I would appreciate some information about it - but don't post it on here! PM, email me or go to JED...
