Post subject: Pilot/Co pilot FS9

You'll have to register to get it but it's free for now

Our idea
What about being able to share your cockpit with another pilot and cooperate on it?

Imagine a program which can synchronize your systems and fly the same aircraft... for example, you lower the gear and the other pilot get the gear lowered on his system as well.

Having such a system allows for realistic pilot/co-pilot flights: doing checklists and taking care of your own duties reproducing in a better way what happen in the real cockpit!

And, if you need some flight training, it will be possible to have a 'live' instructor showing you how to perform certain operations or test your skills! Clubs, virtual airlines and other organisations could even run 'live' check rides remotely to assess member or applicant skills.

Add a gem like TeamSpeak on top of this system and start dreaming...

Requirements
Of course you will need MSFS: we are going to work on an FS2004 only compatible version initially, adapting it to future MSFS releases.

Initially, you will be able to use this system with any default aircraft and/or any aircraft programmed as described in MSFS SDK.

Scenery are not an issue provided that both pilots are using sceneries with runways/taxiways placed at exactly the same locations (meaning LAT/LON/ALT coordinates) and the same NAVAIDS frequencies.

Being connected to the Internet full time during the flight is a requirement for this product. If you are going to use gates.to/fsnet on a local network, you will need to connect to the Internet at least once per each PC, then the Internet connection can be closed.

Availability
The public beta is now available! Once the public beta version is stable to our standards, we will release it as a version you can buy – this should happen around mid June 2005: stay tuned at this site for a precise date.

~S~ All,

Found that the addon would not work when another addon using VistaMare was installed. Had to do complete uninstall and cleanup and then new install to get it working.

Now what? Multipule FS9 installs? I'm trying to solve the problem and have notified at FSNet.

This is NOT a complaint!

Great addon and should enhance our sim flights.

Regards,
Ken

Razz

rgr Ken !

it is still in beta stages but as far as we where able to fiddle with it it worked quite well, also when connected to the FS Host server there where no problems, whit it actually does is merge the two aircraft and one player keeps control over the controls as the second one as acting as co-pilot with limited functionallity, ergo co-pilot can control Ap, NAV's, Radois, Lights, flpas gear etc etc, but not controlling the aircraft itself that's the pilot Laughing

Anyway we had some fun with it and it certainly has potential.........we keep a watchfull eye on it

Cool

Haven't checked it out but sounds cool and I'm sure will become even more user friendly over time.

Will also come in handy for the observer position in the civilian OH-6 with rotating spotlight! Isn't easy trying to hover and keep the spot on those Perps all by yourself. Laughing
