The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Here are two pictures from the engine compartment of the XM 1 at Fort Campbell. Looking at these, you can see the insides do not look like an AVDS-1790 series was ever installed. Both were taken from the left side of the tank through a top opening near the air filter unit.

This is the the bulkhead area between the engine compartment and turret.



This is from the same opening looking towards the rear



Interesting location for the fuel/water separator. Large white box is normally installed in the drivers compartment. Looks like they just dumped excess parts in the hull (Common with a lot of de-milled display tanks).
