Fort Knox Question (WW2)
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I noticed some pictures from Ft Knox in WW2 show "D-R" on the bumper number. Anyone know what that means?

DR = Demonstration Regiment - part of the Armored Force Center and/or Armor School.

Sometimes one also sees "delta" TC or "ATC" as in Armor Training Center before the DR

So some Vehices in photos show designations like "ATC-DR-C2" or such.

I have seen the DR designation on halftracks, M3 and M4-series mediums, M7 SP 105s, and M3-series light tanks
