M901/M981 registry?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Has anyone considered doing a registry for the M901 ITV and M981 FIST-V? I know the location of 4 M901s in the North East and a M901/M981 Hybrid in Alabama. I do not not think may survived,

Silviop15,
A M901/M981 registry would be nice. I presume You know of the M901 ITV SN CAA-00433 at AAF Tank Museum in Danville, VA? Plus the great registry (USA, Belgium, etc.) which already exists here in Com-Central would help identify many of these located throughout USA. My photos of the M901 ITV at Danville, VA can be found at: www.flickr.com/photos/brick6757 . Scroll back to Dec 2013 and all of my photos of the AAF Museum are there. Let us know if You put a registry together. Rick

Maybe in next year I could make the M901 register for Surviving Panzers website section: American post-1945 tanks and combat vehicles

Wow that is a lot. Great Job.

Here are the additions

Tobyhanna Army Depot; Tobyhanna, PA (USA) M901A1 (not M901), I have a pic
2 M901A1s, Private Collector, North East US (Unknown Specific location, seen at shows)

There are more M981s than that though. There is one in the Armor and Calvary collection.

I contacted the US Veteran's Memorial which is on now Museum in Huntsville, AL and they told me the following.

They have a M901 chassis with M981 turret. The M901 turret was supposedly removed before donation as the USMC still use it on the LAV ( See link above) Then they found a M981 turret

They also have a M901A3 RISE TOW missile launcher. It was on display at Red River Army Depot but was given to the musuem when the M901 was removed from service.

Pictures are courtesy of the museum. I do not know how to post pics right to the site.
