Cecchignola, part III. Italian armoured cars
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

More 10 years old pics

Lancia Lince. This isn't a Dingo, but one build in Italy after 1943, heavily based on the english design:

AB 41:

AB 43 Ferroviaria. A few AB cars were modified to run on rail, this is the only know survivor. It's interesting to note that a bunch of these was still in service long time after WW II. At one point, after WW II, the 20 mm was replaced by a 12,7 mm. Markings on this vehicle are post-war.
The boxes above the fenders were used to store sand, the sand was dropped on the railline to improve braking:

I love that idea!

I'm not surprised to read that these armoured cars were in service after the war. The Italians have/had a regular army unit that specialized in railroad operation and repair. They sent a number of men in the Former Yugoslavia helping the three sides get their various gauged rail lines running. For example in NW Bosnia in and around BIHAC there was a 'normal' gauge line that snaked out to Croatia. Along the valley walls around DRVAR there were narrow gauge lines. A lot of twists and turns with very limited capacity.

Yes, the italian Army has been very proud of its railroad engineers unit. Other armies tipically rely on civilian staff for railroads, so the italians along the years have been called in those scenarios were the situation is still too hot for civilians.
