Burgdorf (CH). Stiftung HAM
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Stiftung HAM is a foundation that preserves historical artifacts from the Swiss Army. Its final goal is to build a museum, in the meantime they take care of a large amount of material. More info:
www.armeemuseum.ch/

The pictures from this set were shot in 2010, during an open day inside one of their depots:

I've just posted a few pictures. More will follow in the next few days

The vehicle that arrived from Sweden in Full during last winter should be very similar to this one.

There were 3 G-13 over there. I've already posted a few pictures of them inside the thread dedicated to G-13. You can see more here:

There were 4 different M109s, plus the driver training vehicle. I didn't attempt to identify the versions, it's too hard Smile

One amazing thing from this collection is that the Swiss Army managed to save even single pieces that were acquired for testing back 80 years ago and never adopted. That's the case of the 75mm Vickers anti-aircraft gun (see the Artillery forum here: www.com-central.net/in...;t=15053).

Another such case is the italian "Trattore Pavesi". This a unique, italian design. Variants of it served in both WW I and WW II. It was well suited to mountain warfare and the Swiss Army tried it at one point:

Another italian vehicle evaluated by the Swiss Army.

OM Autocarretta 32 by Massimo Foti, on Flickr

It's hard to understand the design of "autocarretta" unless you keep in mind that the Italian Army was obsessed with mountain warfare. All the major commander of the thirties and forties had experiences in WW I and mountain warfare was at the center of their vision. Then WW II came, and the Italian Army had to fight its major battles in the desert and in Russia...

A prototype for a radical Pz 68 upgrade. In the end the Swiss Army acquired Leopard 2s instead:
