A United Airlines flight from Seattle to Newark was delayed Wednesday morning after the pilot forcibly tried to close the main passenger door and accidentally deployed the plane's emergency slide.

United Flight 856 was on the ground at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, scheduled for a 10:54 a.m. PT departure, when a flight attendant couldn't pull the main passenger door closed on the full Boeing 757, according to NBC News' Bob Sullivan, who was on the flight.

The pilot came to assist, Sullivan said, violently yanking at the door three or four times. But instead of closing, the door dislodged and forced the emergency chute to deploy.

No injuries were reported, but all passengers had to deplane.

"We are replacing the slide pack and should depart soon," United spokesperson Joe Micucci told NBC News.

Sounds like that JG300 squad meeting that ended prematurely when JG300-Stoopy was reaching for his beer and hit the bomb release.... Rolling Eyes

Yeah, well we lost two promising rookies that day and we were already understrength because JG300-Fr8ycat was away at fashion school. That whole tournament loss can be traced back to that little mishap....

Are we really going to go there and revisit this whole sordid series of events again? Really? Because I could bring up a certain someone's issues with lactose intolerance which pre-empted many a squad training discussion. It's pretty hard to convey the finer points of energy management and dragging flies to your wingman to a room full of pilots who are choking and gagging and weeping tears of nausea....oh, everyone except the Chief Armorer sitting back in the corner (blocking the only window in the room btw) grinning and laughing maniacally to himself, that is.

If the remote-controlled genital shock cuffs had only worked as advertised we wouldn't have even needed as much training but - almost predictably - they weren't calibrated correctly for the higher voltage levels required to work on Wilde Saunen. So rather than a controlled gruppe responding in unison it was every man for himself by the time the curtain dropped. All things considered I still feel we made a good showing....and, more importantly let us not forget the pact we made to let bygones be bygones.

Except for bringing up Fr8ycat's schedule conflict...you know he's still sensitive about that to this day. Look on the bright side and the other improvements he was able to make to the feel and general flow of the furniture and living spaces at the Sty as a result... you can't say that years later the improvements don't make up for that one little tournament.

Well, if you hadn't made The Manolo start serving cappuccinos and latte macchiatos instead of beer and Wild Turkey at the pre-flight briefings, their might have been a little less spirited and over-caffeinated hijinks. Milk and caffeine in excess leads to mischievous effluence.

...and it's not like you didn't contribute by gorging on 3-day-old shrimp tacos and black and red been burritos infused with Cholula that left a fragrant (and sometimes, visible) trail both in the briefing hut AND in formation that left many a Sauen unable to see through their own tears (to say nothing of the increased fire risk). It wasn't lactose intolerance that brought down the remodeled latrine, ya' know. There was a "Rauchen Verboten" sign right there on the door....just sayin'....
