Hello,

here's a picture that we took yesterday. The M4A2 pictured here belonged to 501st Tank Regiment and was put out of action in Lorraine on 17 November 1944 :

The two guys on the left side are friends dressed with the British black beret and French insignia of the 501st Tank Regiment. I am the guy with the Thompson gun, French Navy beret and navy shoulder patch, which is the uniform of the Régiment Blindé de Fusiliers Marins (RBFM is a Tank Destroyer unit that used M10 Tank Destoyers operated by French Marines). The guy on the right side has the uniform of the Régiment de Marche du Tchad, which was an infantry regiment of the 2nd French armored.

very cool photo! Thanks for sharing. The 2eme DB is an interesting outfit and with its colorful mix of uniforms I should look at building some models and figures from them (if I ever get around to finishing any of my models!). 2eme DB is under appreciated by many Americans - a very proud outfit with a fine reputation in combat. Patton's "other armored division". The set up of the photo is also very good.

that's right, French soldiers and vehicles were very colorful in 1944, I think that they didn't really fit with camouflage standards in US or British armies. I wonder if this "non-camouflage" politic provoked more deaths in the french division than in other Allies ones?
