Switzerland update in Vugelles

Thanks, OCTO68. How is that M113 armed and are there any otter views of that turret arrangement? What is this variant designated (if you know)?

Good news from Vugelles, hopefully they recognized the historical value of the tanks and it will go to a better place. Thanks for the info!

Doug, yes, it's a 63/73; later on some were upgrade to the Schutzenpanzer 63/89 configuration:

The 20 mm in the turret comes from De Haviland Vampires or Venoms that were either passed to training units or retired.

My man! And that's interesting about being salvaged from Vamps and Venoms. Maybe had a higher ROF than most ground mount 20's. Either way, nice bit of trivia.

As far as I know the 20 mm guns were reused just because it was a cost effective solution. The Swiss Army often try to make good use of obsolescent equipment. Massimo
