AFV in Greece
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

I think I was perfectly clear in stating that it is a Centaur, unfortunately the only complete example of the type to escape the scrapman's torch in the sixties, along with three turrets that have also been preserved.
When the museum got it, it was in a bad shape, so they had to add tracks and sprockets from an M113 and sheet metal to cover the empty engine bay, to make it more or less complete when viewed from the outside. Fortunately, certain details, like the locally fitted AA HMG mount, have been preserved.

A few more links with nice photo galleries, courtesy of Greek bloggers...
Kalamata:

Rethymno:

Private collection, in Askyphos, Chania:

Also, if you google the Greek words for "Military Museum", you get these results. Bear in mind that not all are from Greece, or indeed relevant, but you can blame Google.

More preserved AFVs, from the Army's own site (museum page)

Officers' Academy: AMX-30B, M48 Patton, M44, M52, M59, M59A1, M24 Chaffee, M42 Duster.

Where is that Academy ?

Is that Hellenic Corps Officers Military Academy in Thessaloniki ?

No, it's the Hellenic Military Academy in Athens.
The Corps Officers Academy grounds are too small for such a collection and in any case, the local War Museum is virtually across the street (OK, across two streets) from it.

No problem. Lately, I've been thinking of at least trying to contact the local military PR office to get permission to photograph the M24, Centaur and Humber Mk IV turrets, if they are still where I remember them. If it works, I'll definitely post the photos.

I haven't seen stacked rifles in quite some time. Laughing Of course, with M1 Garands, the cute billiards rack isn't necessary (conventional wisdom was that a properly set stack of three M1's would support the weight of a Jeep).

I believe the triangles you're referring to are fixed in place and are just there to mark the proper location of the rifle stack
There's also the incense burning in the steel pots. In our Army it's standard at memorials and wreath-laying ceremonies.
