This is how I spent my Sunday!
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi Folks!

The IPMS El Paso Model Club put on a display at one of the malls in El Paso on Sunday.

Most of the models in the shot are my. Six are not.

Pretty neat Sunday, Roy.

Personally, I think you owe the forum some better-lit detail shots of your armor collection for us to enjoy, I think we'd all like to see them.

A close up of the Mk IV in the lower right corner would be nice. Is that an Ausf. H by chance? Mr. Green

For Jeff the following: The white one is a very, very, very old Monogram Mk IV H. Good call. The tan one is the same kit, but cut down a bit and some parts switched with another kit to make a Mk IV G.

For Doug and any one else who would like better pictures and more of them, go to the club home page, one the left select ONLINE GALLERIES, look for BASSETT SHOW and you will find some great photos taken by Bill Plunk.

Enjoy and thanks for asking.

P.S. At the time I painted that Mk IV H Panzer Gary, I didn't know that most is not all Mk IV Hs where build after the switch to yellow.

COOL! I can tell now by the brown treads they used to make! Nice job on the white wash!

Thanks for the link too!

Hi Jeff! Hi Folks!

Nice job on the white wash!

Thank You Sir! I tried to make it look like the crew had used a mop and didn't have enough wash to cover all of the vehicle.

If I remember right, I used a Q-tip for the mop.

I spent four years in Germany during a time when the only models in the PX were Monogram's 1/32 scale Grants, Lees, Shermans and their FOV of MK IV vehicles. Just about every Christmas and birthday, I would get one of those kit from friends who knew I build models. In time, I ended up with two or three of just about every one of those Monogram kits. Some have been past on to others, a number have been glued together, some even have a first coat of paint, but those two are the only ones that are finished. I have some Shermans, Lees and Grants that are almost done. I am hung up the fact that the end connectors are on the blocks and not connecting the blocks. Something I didn't notice back when I first received those old kits.

Sometimes I forget why I still try to build models. Shows like last Sunday, give me a recharge and I feel like doing more. I got the feeling, now I just need to get busy finishing and building some new items for the next show!
