T26E4 at Cantigny Park
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

- binder001 Here's their M46 - looks like it got the blast deflector off an M47 or M48 Also, is this an M26 or an M46? I previously had it down as a Pershing... Neil

Hi Neil:

Definitely an M46. I was there about a month ago. I couldn't find a serial on the M46, but the lug number on the T26E4 was 97. The IP M1 was in the parking lot when I was there, waiting for its concrete pad to be poured. Also a short-fuselage UH-1 (B or C?) that is apparently going to be put in a new diorama inside (once the expansion is complete).

This is a great place. My wife and I really enjoyed the museum and also McCormick's mansion. I'm looking forward to going back next summer.

Thanks, I guess that makes it 1 of 7 M46 survivors in the US then... I'll have to try to check the T26 SN against Hunnicutt, thanks! Neil

Hi Neil: Were you looking for the serial of the IP M1 at Cantigny? I was just going through my photos and noticed that the serial stamped into the side skirts is 0685. Hope this helps, Scott
