Trieste, Museo Diego de Henriquez: Libli
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Special request from Rafal

These are two "Littorina Blindata", aka "Libli". Build by Ansaldo, the turrets are the same as M series tanks, I can't say if they are M 14 or M 15 turrets.

As far as I know they are unique in the world. Both in pretty bad shape. Some original mimetics is still visible under the rust.

A restoration is possible for sure, I just don't see it happening since the Museum lacks resources. I am also afraid documentation for a proper restoration could be hard to find.

Doesn't the museum have a support group of volunteers?

I was just having a rummage around here and I see that there was a Littorina Blindata M42 & Littorina Blindata M43.

I presume they are both Littorina Blindata M43?

It's not the UK, or Switzerland,, it's Italy Crying or Very sad

The Museum isn't even opened to the public and will not be for at least a few years. Having volunteers working in museums is very complicated in Italy, since baroque laws create problems as far as liability for damage, injuries and assorted insurances... In the end, most curators/directors don't even try to assemble volunteer groups, they are afraid to be accountable if something bad happens.

Don't even think about having volunteers working inside museums that belong to the armed forces, like Cecchignola o Pinerolo! Crying or Very sad

I should check my books for that. I remember reading something inside Nicola Pignato's books, but not that much.

Les trains blindés, 1826-1989 by Paul Malmassari (Heimdal), may be worth a check too.

I can't provide additional info at the moment, sorry.

Some pictures (most likely scanned from books) available here.

Small world - I met Paul Malmassari when he was a young captain at Saumur (about 1983), he mentioned he was interested in armoured trains then.
