Help/Pics Needed - American Legion, Lone Tree, IA
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Some vehicles I am looking for for the USA AFV Register. Pics needed & additional info welcome:

American Legion Post 457, 300 N Devoe St
M1 Abrams USA out? SN L1469; Unconfirmed
M41A2 Walker Bulldog USA out SN 5275

Only American Legion (or VFW) alleged to have an Abrams AFAIK!

Neil, one of my tractor buddies lives about 6 miles up the road from this post. He knows there are tanks there, but as to type, well he knows tractors! He will take pics for me. A little side note. He says this hall was built with a $1 million donation by a member of the post. I bet it is probably the best in the MidWest.

Guess the snow wasn't as bad as I thought. Here is what he has so far.

I wonder why tie-downs are needed for these tanks?

Thanks for the pics! That confirms Lone Tree as the only American Legion Post (or VFW for that matter) that has an M1 Abrams tank on display...

Anyone care to identify the exact model? The TACOM Central Registry says its SN L1469.
